Will we see an NXT star enter this years Royal Rumble match? This is a question that many fans are asking themselves as we draw closer to the 2017 Royal Rumble. Here is a list of potential candidates from NXT who could be surprise entrants!
Samoa Joe:
The most obvious pick is Samoa Joe. He hasn’t been featured at all on NXT television over the past several weeks and his call-up to the main roster seems like it will be happening real soon. Keep your eyes on Joe to not only enter the match but be a legit threat to win the whole thing.
Tye Dillinger:
The number 10 spot in the Rumble match has Dillinger’s name all over it. Fans have been expecting it for the past several weeks. Would be a pretty great spot for him to make his debut with his ‘Perfect 10’ gimmick.

Hideo Itami:
Itami recently posted on Twitter that he is ready to make his return from injury. Itami came into WWE a few years back with a ton of hype but has been slowed by injuries so far in his career. Maybe they will fast track him to the main roster in order to get the most out of him?
Wildcard: Shinsuke Nakamura
I don’t think there is a question that Nakamura should be on WWE’s main roster but it seems like the current NXT Champion won’t be moving up for some time. He is a wildcard for this years Rumble match. If he does enter, expect him to be a big threat to win.
