Bret Hart Has Some Harsh Criticism For Charlotte As WWE Women’s Champion

Charlotte ended up winning the newly formed Women’s Championship in her match against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 32. A lot of fans (myself included) believed that Sasha Banks would be walking out of Dallas with the Women’s Championship, but Charlotte ended up winning. WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart was in the same camp as me when looking back at the match on his Sharpshooter show. He also had some criticism for Charlotte.

On the Triple Threat Match for the Women’s Championship, Bret Had some critiques for Charlotte:

“I thought it was Sasha Banks’ night. I think it was another bad booking call. To not give her her chance at WrestleMania. I think she’ll have other chances so it’s not end all. I thought she clearly was the talent in the ring. Her and Becky were really good. I think Charlotte, you can see a lot of holes in her work and you can still see that she’s really green. She’s not the World’s Champion. I love Ric Flair. I love Charlotte. She’s a great girl and all that. She is so green and if you really know wrestling you can see she’s not the best one out there to be wearing that belt. She’s a good symbol maybe. She’s strictly there because of Dad and his reputation of having the last name Flair. As far as her work rate and her skills in the game she’s really a long ways from the top.”

Bret Hart is known as being brutally honest when he speaks. Would love to hear peoples opinions on Charlotte as WWE Women’s Champion. Do you agree with Bret? Let us know in the comments!

  1. That was Sasha’s night. They had the little video of her crying seeing herself on poster at the stadium and saying she finally made it. It’s a great journey made by an unlikely star. She has elevated my perceptions of women’s wrestling and made me actually keep watching. Becky isn’t as good and Charlotte is as green as Hart says.
