More Details On Mauro Ranallo Joining The NXT Commentary Team

The big news that broke on Thursday afternoon was that Mauro Ranallo is returning to WWE. He announced on instagram that he is returning to be a part of NXT and joining the commentary table on Wednesday nights.

The news that Mauro is returning to the company has gotten fans very excited. This didn’t seem possible a few months ago when Mauro and WWE announced that they were parting ways.

Here are some more details on the situation thanks to F4WOnline.com.

– Mauro signed a (new) multi-year deal with WWE. He is NOT returning on his old contract that was set to expire in August of this year.

– The contract is for Mauro to work all NXT television tapings and NXT Takeover events. This is significantly less than his previous contract with WWE since NXT only tapes once or twice a month.

– He will still be working Showtime and Bellator events. Looks like he will be free to do projects outside of WWE (if they aren’t wrestling related).

– Any talk of Mauro to New Japan Pro Wrestling are over.

Also, it appears that Mauro will be replacing Tom Phillips on NXT. Phillips will likely focus strictly on Smackdown Live moving forward. Mauro will likely join Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson in the booth.
