As noted prior, Alberto Del Rio (aka Alberto El Patron) is under investigation from police for an alleged domestic violence incident that happened over the weekend. No charges have been made at the moment but he is being investigated by police for an incident that happened at the Orlando airport.
Alberto recently unified the GFW Global Championship and the Impact Wrestling Championship. He defeated Bobby Lashley at Slammiversary XV last weekend to do so.
Global Force Wrestling released a statement after the news of the alleged domestic violence incident broke (as posted by Pro Wrestling Sheet)
“Global Force Wrestling takes all legal situations very seriously and is looking into this matter. GFW is a privately-held company and will thoroughly investigate this incident and fully cooperate with law enforcement”
Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few days. GFW recently taped their shows for the next several weeks and Patron was a heavy part of them (since he is the World Champion). It is unclear what the company will do if the charges are filed against him.
