John Cena Rumored For A Huge Movie Role, Could Eventually Lead To Him Colliding With The Rock On The Big Screen

John Cena’s career is quickly skyrocketing in the world of Hollywood. Over the past few years he has appeared in several movies, including: Daddy’s Home (1 and 2), Sisters and Trainwreck. He also was announced several weeks ago for the new Transformers spin-off, titled: Bumblebee.

It appears as if Cena could be on the verge of landing another big role. This one could also lead to an on-screen clash with one of his biggest WWE rivals. Let us explain.

According to Screen Rant, John Cena and Joshua Sasse are the two frontrunners to play the superhero: Shazam (in the movie Shazam, coming out in 2019). This would be a role in the DC Extended Universe. Considering how big the Marvel and DC movies are right now, landing a lead role in one of these films would be huge.

What makes it interesting for WWE fans is that the Rock is going to be playing the character of Black Adam. He has already been cast in the role and will be a producer on the film. Black Adam is one of the main villains for Shazam, which means that we could eventually see these two face off on the big screen if things go as planned. The Rock apparently will be getting his own solo movie for his character as well. There have been some rumblings that the Rock won’t be in the 2019 film but these two will eventually collide as more movies are made.

Obviously Cena still has to win the role, but this could be huge. If he lands a role in the DC Extended Universe, we have to think that his wrestling career will be put to the back burner.
