WWE Buried Alive Matches: Every One That Has Happened

How do you win a Buried Alive match? The only way to win is, (you guessed it) to bury your opponent alive. Competitors try to put each other in the grave on the outside of the ring. After they are in the grave, they need to fill it up with dirt. The Undertaker has actually competed in every single one that has ever taken place in WWE. Here is a list of all the WWE Buried Alive matches that have taken place.

1) The Undertaker vs Mankind 

– Event: In Your House 11: Buried Alive (1996)

The first-ever Buried Alive match took place at In Your House 11: Buried Alive in 1996. The Undertaker faced off against Mankind in the main event. The Undertaker eventually won after about 18 minutes.

2) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Undertaker

– Event: Rock Bottom: In Your House (1998)

Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker faced off in a Buried Alive match at Rock Bottom: In Your House in 1998.  This was for the right to compete in the 1999 Royal Rumble match. Austin eventually won the match.

3) The Undertaker & Big Show vs Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection (Mankind & the Rock) 

– Event: Smackdown (September 9th, 1999).

A Buried Alive match happened on an episode of Smackdown in September of 1999. The Undertaker and Big Show faced the Rock ‘n’ Sock connection for the World Tag Team Championships. The Undertaker and the Big Show won the match and the Titles.

4) Vince McMahon vs The Undertaker

– Event: Survivor Series (2003).

Survivor Series 2003 featured a Buried Alive match between Mr. McMahon and the Undertaker. McMahon was able to win the match after some help from Kane.

5) Kane vs The Undertaker

– Event: Bragging Rights (2010).

After a several-year absence, the match returned in 2010 at the Bragging Rights PPV. The Undertaker and Kane faced off in a Buried Alive match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Kane ended up winning.
