Ranking Every WWE PPV Of 2017 From Worst To Best

6) Summerslam

The 2017 edition of Summerslam was long, very long. The show was certainly a marathon with 13 matches on the card. This won’t go down as the greatest Summerslam event in WWE history, but there were a lot of good matches and moments.

The main event was phenomenal. Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe. This was a massive match and lived up to the expectations.  I enjoyed the hell out of it and fans certainly got their money’s worth for the Pay-Per-View in just one match.

Both tag team title matches were also a lot of fun. The Usos and the New Day put on another great performance. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs Sheamus & Cesaro was also a lot of fun.

I think that a lot of fans disliked the show simply based on how many matches there were and how long the show ran for. The event was draining and I don’t blame you if you were exhausted by the end. I think the main event was worth the price of admission alone.

5) Elimination Chamber

The Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View returned in 2017 with the WWE Title on the line. Bray Wyatt took on John Cena, AJ Styles, The Miz, Dean Ambrose, and Baron Corbin.

The event was solid from top to bottom. Specifically, the main event, Mickie James vs Becky Lynch and Luke Harper vs Randy Orton were a lot of fun.

What really pushed this event over the top for me was the main event inside of the Elimination Chamber. I thought that WWE booked it very well, highlighting the strengths of all 6 guys involved. There was action from start to finish and I thought there was some great storytelling done in the match.

Bray Wyatt won the match and the WWE Championship in a feel-good moment. For fans of Bray Wyatt, this was a satisfying moment because we are not used to him winning big matches, let alone the WWE Title.

This was a VERY close call between Elimination Chamber and Summerslam. After thinking about it, I took into account Summerslam being too long to give Elimination Chamber the nod.

4) Survivor Series

I am with you, I also disliked the ending of Survivor Series and the Men’s elimination match. While saying that, I think some fans are letting that influence how great the entire show was leading up to that point.

The Shield vs the New Day was a great match and one heck of a way to open the show. Sheamus & Cesaro vs The Usos was fun.

Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles was a really great match I thought. Loved watching AJ come close to beating Brock. Also loved seeing Brock work his ass off to sell for Styles.

I thought the event was pretty enjoyable. The ending didn’t bother me enough to give the full show a bad rating. To me, this seems like a fair place for it based on my own enjoyment.

This did have the potential to be number one if the Men’s elimination match delivered like it did in 2016.
