Roman Reigns Explains His Relationship With John Cena Backstage & If He Has Taken Any Of His Comments Personally

Roman Reigns was recently a guest on the ‘In This Corner’ podcast hosted by CBS Sports. Roman spoke on a wide variety of topics about his career and his match at No Mercy against John Cena.

One of the questions that he was asked was about his relationship with Cena backstage. As fans know, Roman and Cena have been taking some personal shots at one another in promo battles on RAW.

This includes Cena bringing up Reigns’ failed drug test. It also includes Reigns bringing up rumors of Cena burying former WWE star: Alex Riley.

So are they friends? Here is what Reigns had to say about his relationship with John:

“I will be completely honest. Me and John have always been cordial but I would never say we are close friends by any means. There is a business respect but I think that’s what makes it so special. We are truly competing against each other and I think people see that”

On if he has taken any of the promo comments personally:

“It’s not like a situation where I am taking anything that he says to heart, because I don’t really care what he thinks about me, you know what I mean? If you care for somebody and they knife you, it will hurt your feelings and it can depress you. When you don’t care about somebody or their opinion, it doesn’t affect you. And that is what it is like with me and John”
