News On If There Was Any Heat On Shinsuke Nakamura For The Cena Botch

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated John Cena on Smackdown Live this week. With the win, he earned himself a WWE Championship match against Jinder Mahal at Summerslam.

One of the biggest stories coming out of the match was the bad bump that Cena took. Nakamura went for the exploder suplex on Cena but something happened and it ended up with Cena landing on his head/neck. Cena was able to finish the match but it was a scary moment.

A concern among some fans was that Nakamura would end up with some heat backstage for what happened. It looks like that is not the case at all.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com says that the incident was seen as a fluke backstage. As far as he has heard, there was no heat on Nakamura over the incident.

Nakamura immediately apologized to Cena after the match. You can see Cena mouth that Nakamura has nothing to be sorry about.

Good news on both accounts here. One, Cena wasn’t seriously injured. Landing on your neck like that could have been a LOT worse. The second is that there is no heat on Nakamura. He obviously wasn’t trying to injure Cena with what happened and something just went wrong.

Hopefully this clears things up for those worried about Nakamura.
