WWE RAW July 24, 2017 Review – RawView

1) I will not disgrace Raw with any mention of the network special that happened last night. I’ll be discussing my thoughts on that during tomorrow night’s RawView. Looks like we open Raw tonight with a sucky Olympic gold medalist. We learn that Angle Jr will be having his first single’s Raw match tonight. As poppa Angle is about to announce who the number one contender is we are interrupted by BRRRRAAAUUUUUN! Joe is out next and I’m feeling a fatal four-way coming our way and if that’s the case you could literally put the network special from last night as the undercard and I won’t complain. Next we have the leader of the ghost pack senior booman reigns is out to declare HIMSELF as the number one contender. Geez Corey and Cole have literally already said big dog like five times and he hasn’t made it to the ring. Strowman is getting the loudest pop of anyone else in the ring, I think we have a baby face in Strowman. “All I care about is piling bodies” yep Strowman wins comment of the night already. Why do Samoans hate Strowman so much? Joe and Reigns dump Strowman over the barricade and then Reigns and Joe start beating the hell out of each other. Strowman then goes full “I ain’t finished with you” and destroys everyone. Can I get three hours of Strowman just throwing stuff? The locker room clears and Strowman stands tall from the brawl. They should pull the trigger on him at Summerslam he is OH VA.

2) Holy Demon Balorman are we really getting Sampson and Balor again? I’ll say this about Sampson he’s getting some real heat every week. I’m sure I’m going to enjoy this match yet again but seriously the same match three weeks in a row? Side note from rant Finn Balor still may be the coolest guy ever when he enters. Balor is wearing the tape on the shoulder and I’m hoping it’s just to put over the guitar shot from last week. Have you noticed how much of Balor’s offense is based on the outside and the apron? I really just noticed. We get some shenanigans with a chair and Sampson lays into the shoulder of Balor. Balor then traps Sampson in the apron and starts laying the boots into him and then kicks him square in the face. Balor who has wrestle this match with a lot of intensity lays into Sampson with the chair and starts with some dropkicks in the corner. Balor hits his finisher and then spooky light things happen and some crazy god from Louisiana hits Balor with Sister Abigail and as he stares upside down Sampson pins Balor on Raw. Some may complain about that ending but it’s PERFECT. Gets some heat on the feud with Balor and Wyatt, allows Sampson a pin-fall over a big name and protects Balor because it’s because of Wyatt.

3) So now we get a video package of Angle and Jr. Angle is now backstage with Renee now that she isn’t doing network things I guess she can do things on Raw and Smackdown. Emma interrupts and she….threatens to date Jr? I guess Angle doesn’t approve because he sets up Emma vs. Nia Jax tonight. We then get Big Show and Enzo doing a secret handshake from 1994. Enzo says he doesn’t have a plan to wrestle a guy twice his size.

4) Enzo and Cass doing the ole more guts than brains match. Still not sure how I feel about Big Cass’s theme. Cass tries to put Enzo out of the WWE permanently and luckily Enzo went to seven footers r ‘us and Big Show comes out for the save. Big Cass gets the upper hand on Big Show and that’s that.

5) We now get Emma against Nia Jax because…. Emma wanted to date Jr. Anyway this goes exactly the way you expected and Nia squashes Emma literally for the win.

6) Now we have another father figure getting in the way of a superstar. Titus says he’s called off Tozawa’s match tonight and he loses it and walks to the ring. Tozawa calls out Daivari and out comes Neville to possibly rip Tozawa’s arm right off his body. Tozawa attacks Neville lays him out and hits the big Senton on Neville. Daivari now comes out and lays waste to Tozawa as well as Neville.

7) We get a Jason Jordan promo on how he wants to make poppa Angle proud. We also get an Ambrose and Rollins promo where Ambrose continues not to fully trust Rollins.

8) We get Sasha and Bayley to determine the women’s number one contender. Both women working this match like it’s their last chance which is awesome. These two have fantastic chemistry and even when things look a bit off it still looks good. Several counters to the bank statement and some more big high impact moves. Sasha finally hits the frog splash however Bayley reversers the pin-fall and hooks the leg to become number one contender at Summerslam.

9) Angle Jr takes on Hawkins next and as much as this is kind of boring is perfect for Jordan as he needs to be established as a singles wrestler. Hawkins gets a nice smack in before Jr begins his destruction. He keeps the straps removal gimmick and then hits a crazy neck breaker however now sure how that will work against bigger opponents.

10) The Revival is out to cut a promo about how they are better than the entire tag team division. This brings out the good brothers and they cut a very entertaining promo in my opinion. These two teams are working extremely well together and I’m digging this. The Hardyz come out and distract the good brothers which leads to a shatter machine. By the way the shatter machine is sick so so so sick. After the match the Hardyz clean house and the fans go crazy for the hardyz greatest hits.

11) Apparently next week Miz TV will have Angle Jr as the special guest and I wonder If that means Ambrose and Rollins is heading towards a feud. For those keeping count Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel are about to be in the main event of Raw against Rollins and Ambrose. Dallas and Axel will be great for Miz in the long run as it allows faces to get some heat back without having to make the Miz look like a joke. The Miztourage puts a beat down on Rollins for almost the entirety of the match and Miz hits an incredible DDT. Ambrose finally gets the hot tag and lays out both Axel and Dallas. Miz gets a blind tag and skill crushing finale on Ambrose and Rollins breaks it up. Dallas takes a mean shot to the face from the ropes. We then get the finish when Rollins hits the flying knee and Ambrose finishes Miz with dirty deeds. Rollins goes for the shield fist bumb and Ambrose rolls out the ring and walks up the ramp. That ends Raw.
