How The ‘House Of Horrors’ Match Will Work

Randy Orton will be facing off against Bray Wyatt at the Payback pay-per-view on Sunday. There has been a lot of build for this match but it is still unclear what exactly a ‘House of Horrors’ match is and how it will work on Sunday.

We do know that the WWE Championship will NOT be on the line in the match. Jinder Mahal stealing the title on Smackdown Live confirmed this.

WWE also gave a bit of clarification on the match, saying that it will start in the ‘House of Horrors’ and finish in the ring. This means that regardless of what happens on Sunday, both of them will end up in the ring and in front of the live crowd.

Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), speculates that parts of the ‘House of Horrors’ will be pre-taped.

This will likely be similar to the Wyatt Family Compound segment that happened last year between the Wyatt Family and The New Day. It will also likely be inspired by the ‘Broken’ Hardy’s Total Nonstop Deletion for those familiar.

Whatever happens in the pre-taped segment, it will spill over to the backstage area and eventually to the ring to finish it off as an official match.

We noted prior that the original idea for the House of Horrors match was a funhouse. I expect something similar on Sunday.

We will have to wait and see what happens on Sunday. It will certainly be interesting.
