We noted prior that John Cena isn’t advertised to return to Smackdown Live until the July 4th episode. Cena has been on hiatus from WWE while he films a movie. He recently stated that he can’t wrestle and film movies at the same time due to insurance purposes.
A recent tweet from Cena indicates that WWE fans could be seeing him a lot sooner than July 4th.
Cena recently tweeted that he is finishing up a project in Atlanta before coming home to WWE:
Taking a second to regroup and recharge. Finishing up a wonderfully funny project in Atlanta, then a trip back home is long overdue @WWE

Where is Smackdown Live this week? Smackdown takes place in Atlanta, making a potential return this week very possible. With ratings not doing the greatest, this could Vince McMahon’s way to try to get a boost.

We will have to wait and see if he shows up on Tuesday but it certainly looks like a possibility!
