The Long-Term Plans For The ‘Great Balls Of Fire’

Much has been made about the WWE’s upcoming ‘Great Balls Of Fire’ Pay-Per-View. Many people have joked about the name and logo of the event. Some fans were even shocked to hear that the name wasn’t a joke when it was officially announced by WWE.

It turns out that not only is the ‘Great Balls Of Fire’ event happening in 2017, it also could have a long-term future.

One of the sons of Jerry Lee Lewis (Jerry Lee Lewis III) was recently a guest on the ‘Dinner With The King’ podcast hosted by Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler. The ‘Great Balls of Fire’ name was taken from the old Jerry Lee Lewis song as many fans know.

Jerry Lee Lewis III said on the podcast that the Pay-Per-View could be an annual event for WWE. Nothing is set in stone but he mentioned it as a possibility.

As noted prior, it was revealed that WWE got into some legal issues with the Lewis Family over the name. They worked out a deal and are now using the song to promote the event.

Certainly would be interesting if this event became an annual thing. Not great news for anybody that already hates the name.
