Randy Orton is scheduled to face off with Bray Wyatt in a ‘House Of Horrors’ match at WWE Payback. While it is still unclear what exactly a ‘House Of Horrors’ match is, we know that whatever it turns out to be, the WWE Championship will be on the line.
If you are wondering why WWE chose to have their main Smackdown Title defended on a RAW exclusive PPV, it is to finish up the feud between Orton and Wyatt. Bray recently switched over to RAW in the ‘Superstar Shake-Up’ and was owed his rematch. So what is the plan for Orton after his feud with Bray?
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the current plan is for Randy Orton to feud with Baron Corbin for the WWE Title. This feud will happen after Orton defeats Wyatt to keep the WWE Title on Smackdown Live.
AJ Styles will likely be facing Kevin Owens at Backlash for the WWE United States Championship. This keeps both of them busy for the time being. It is also reported that it is too early to put Shinsuke Nakamura into a WWE Title feud as the company wants to continue to build him up slowly. As a result, we are left with Corbin as one of the only real options for Orton and the WWE Title.

Corbin vs Orton provides a solid option for WWE until they eventually build towards a match between Styles and Orton. It might be a little too early for Corbin but WWE officials are high on him and he has proved that he can hang with the top talent on Smackdown. Will be interesting to see how WWE builds that feud.
