Possible Change Of Plans For Roman Reigns At Wrestlemania 34

On Monday Night RAW this week, Roman Reigns made his big announcement for Summerslam. He told the locker room that he is the number one contender and will be wrestling for the WWE Universal Championship at the event.

If this turns out to be true, he will be facing either Brock Lesnar or Samoa Joe at the event this Summer for the WWE Universal Title.

This has left fans with a lot more questions than answers. Wasn’t Brock vs Reigns penciled in for Wrestlemania 34?

Dave Meltzer speculated on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), that WWE could be building towards John Cena vs Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 34 instead. This makes more sense now that Cena is a ‘free agent’ and can move from brand to brand.

This would mean that Reigns would be facing Brock Lesnar at Summerslam instead of Wrestlemania 34.

A reason why they might do Reigns vs Lesnar at Summerslam is because they want to make the event as big as possible this year. A big match between Reigns and Lesnar would certainly fit that bill.

It is important to note that this is speculation on Meltzer’s part and he says that he doesn’t know for sure. Seems like he is on the right track. Take rumors with a grain of salt as always.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I think it is certain that we are getting either Reigns vs Cena or Reigns vs Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34. Which would you prefer?
