Jim Ross Comments On The Jerry Lawler Arrest.

As you likely have heard by now, long-time WWE commentator Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler was arrested along with his fiance on Thursday night. They both were charged with domestic violence after a reported fight. As a result of the WWE’s zero tolerance for domestic violence policy, Lawler was suspended indefinitely by the WWE. We are still waiting on more details on what happened.

Jim Ross and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler were broadcasting partners for a number of years for the WWE. In a recent blog, JR spoke about his reaction to the Jerry Lawler arrest:

“Shocked to hear of my friend Jerry Lawler’s arrest in Memphis late Thursday night on a domestic battery charge. King’s fiancé was also jailed on the same charge. Allegedly alcohol was a contributing factor in this matter that resulted in Jerry being suspended indefinitely from WWE  as WWE has a zero tolerance policy as it relates to domestic violence issues” (Source: JrsBarBQ.com).

Initial reports stated that alcohol was involved in the fight, but JR says that The King doesn’t drink:

“For the record, Jerry doesn’t drink whatsoever nor have I ever seen him act aggressively toward any female or anyone else for that matter. I have not spoken to Jerry recently and hope that this unfortunate matter can be resolved quickly and efficiently” (Source: JrsBarBQ.com).

Hate hearing situations like this. I hope everything works out and we find out more details in the upcoming days.

I appreciate that the WWE doesn’t tolerate domestic violence and (guilty or not) the WWE is going to wait for court to decide on Jerry’s WWE fate moving forward.
