Ric Flair is back in the podcasting game after a couple month absence. He is still with the same co-host Conrad Thompson as WOOOO! Nation but they are under a new name and banner. It is now called the Ric Flair Show hosted by the MLW Radio network. In the debut episode, Ric Flair gave his thoughts on the upcoming WWE Brand Split and who he would build the brands around.

Flair on his initial reaction to the WWE Brand Split and draft:
“I think it is great. I hope everyone can stay healthy because it’s gonna require a lot of depth on the roster. If everybody is healthy it will be awesome” (Source: The Ric Flair Show).
Flair says he prefers one World Champion for both brands:
“I would leave the format how it is for the championship belts…. I feel like if they make other champions for each brand they are going to dilute it a little bit” (Source: The Ric Flair Show).
Flair was asked who he would build the brands around for the upcoming brand split:
“There are 5 or 6 guys that are imperatively important to either brand. You start off with Roman, Dean, Seth, John Cena, Randy Orton is coming back. If Hunter works boom. Aj Styles. The depth chart is very important. Randy coming back as I’ve mentioned is huge.. I don’t think he starts back until Summerslam. It is great, it gets people talking. The fact that they are talking about it now and it is still a week and a half away is pretty cool. I think it will be awesome”(Source: The Ric Flair Show).

If they’re going to have separate brands, they have to have separate championships. Otherwise, the split would be absolutely pointless because nothing would change. The point of the split is to give guys who otherwise wouldn’t get championship opportunities a real shot. Guys like Cena, Edge, Orton, Eddie, JBL, Punk, and Rey would never have been champions if they hadn’t split the brands back in 2002. WWE as parent company with separate brands would not dilute the value of the belts. The two belts were only a problem when they ended the brand split but insisted on two different belts.
Great Comment, agree with you
