On Smackdown LIVE this week we saw the return of RHYNO to the WWE. He had been previously working in NXT and looks like he is going to be on Smackdown full time from now on. We also saw a vignette for Shelton Benjamin to return to Smackdown! The former Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team Champion will be returning soon and exclusively to the Smackdown brand! There are also some more names being floated as potential returns to the company.

According to PWInsider, Jinder Mahal is confirmed to return to WWE TV on the RAW brand soon. Mahal worked in the WWE from 2011 until 2014 before being released from the company. He has worked on the independents ever since.
It is also confirmed by PWInsider that Curt Hawkins will be joining the Smackdown brand. Hawkins is a former WWE Tag Champ with Zack Ryder. He has been wrestling under his real name: Brian Myers since leaving the WWE a couple years ago.
Other names rumored in their report are: Melina, MVP, Carlito, Stevie Richards and Tommy Dreamer. These are only rumored though and nothing concrete.

Looks like the WWE is really reaching out to former talent to give them another chance. Would personally really love to see MVP and Carlito back with the company!

meh… instead of ‘squash’ these returnees will essentially be there to ‘put up a good fight’, but ultimately made to put over talent. (ie: Dudley boys) don’t get me wrong… im sure they are aware of this and are okay w/ it… but they aren’t coming back for a push or anything. they are merely bodies and decent hands for the company to square off against their younger, top talent.
the only exceptions I can see are maybe shelton benjamin and maybe a carlito. the other names simpy are main stream enough to garner any real support form its viewers. we’ve seen them all before, its very likely that they are who they are. but I suppose its cool that they’re here for enhancement purposes.
The only one on that list that I wouldn’t be all that excited about seeing is Melina. She would come back and the bad reputation she got during her first stay in WWE would cause issues even if she’s much more mature now.
All would be great expect for Richards. MVP would be great.
