Charlotte lost her WWE Women’s Championship this week on RAW after an incredible match with Sasha Banks. This was an incredible moment and match on RAW that will likely lead to a Summerslam re-match between the two talented females. Sasha’s win ended Charlotte’s impressive Women’s title run over the past several months. Much speculation has accumulated over the past couple days regarding why the WWE decided to take the belt off Charlotte.

The original rumor was that Charlotte had requested time off from the WWE and therefore had to lose her title in the process. This was speculated on and posted by a number of sites. It didn’t really make sense but that was the rumor floating around.
PWInsider.com refutes these claims, saying that after talking with a WWE official, Charlotte is still scheduled for all of her appearances in the near future. The reason why the title change happened is due to a couple reasons. The first is that the title change really emphasized that RAW is in a ‘new era’ and anything can happen. The two were already lined up to face each other at Summerslam anyways so this adds another dynamic into the storyline.
The second reason they report is because Vince McMahon feels like Charlotte has built up the title enough that they can use it in storylines now. Meaning we can see more title changes in the future. Vince McMahon is apparently really high on Charlotte and thinks she has done a great job elevating the title.

I think it makes sense. It was an amazing moment that told us that anything can happen in the WWE. The two are facing off anyways so why not have a simple re-match. Just wanted to kill some of the rumors floating around regarding Charlotte!

It is true that Charalette elevated the title. She’s a damn good athlete. Even tho most of her title defenses came with help from Ric Flair as her manager, it doesnt take away from her athletic ability.
