Stephanie McMahon recently spoke at the Beyond Sport United event. During the event she made it clear that the WWE supports the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) community. Speaking with NBC Out, Stephanie had some comments about the possible integration of LGBT characters on WWE TV.

She first says that the WWE will be integrating LGBT characters, possibly even in the near future:
“We will integrate LGBT characters into our programming … and I do think there will be an opportunity to integrate some of those storylines in the near future” (Source: NBC Out).
She also mentions that the WWE is focusing on sensitivity training for their writing staff. With this, she believes they will be able to write appropriate storylines and characters:
“We’ve had GLAAD come in and speak to our entire writing team and give a whole tutorial on sensitivities, the right words, the wrong word [and] why those words matters. I think that with their guidance and support, we will be able to portray that [LGBT storyline] appropriately” (Source: NBC Out).

I really hope the WWE doesn’t try to force a character, simply just to do it. The WWE’s writing staff also makes me a bit nervous with their track record. I do appreciate the WWE taking a stance on this and being proactive. I guess we will have to wait and see!

Yeah cause that worked so well with Billy & Chuck.
It worked out pretty well with Goldust though.
