Triple H Reveals Details On RAW’s Cruiserweight Division Moving Forward.

Triple H participated in a conference call with media members on Wednesday afternoon. The call was to promote this Saturday night’s NXT Takeover Brooklyn 2 live from the Barclay’s Center. During the conference, Triple H revealed some more details on the RAW exclusive Cruiserweight division and the direction it will be going moving forward.

Here were the highlights:

He says that the reason the Cruiserweight division is on RAW exclusively and not Smackdown is because of RAW being a 3 hour show. While it probably makes sense to most people to pair them with Daniel Bryan and Mauro Ranallo [who currently do commentary for the Cruiserweight Classic], RAW needs the division more to help fill that 3rd hour. It will also allow RAW to add something unique to the third hour and keep viewers invested.

He says that he is signing a lot of guys and the Cruiserweight division will be working both RAW and NXT events.

He was asked about Kota Ibushi, who recently said he won’t be signing a full-time contract with the WWE. He was asked if they want their division to be exclusive to WWE or if they mind having talent come in from time to time. While he says they are open to different things, it sounds like he wants to keep the division exclusive to the WWE.

He was asked about a Cruiserweight Championship for the winner of the CWC or the RAW exclusive division. He says he can’t reveal any of that right now.

He mentions that the Cruiserweight’s and the Cruiserweight Classic have knocked his expectations out of the park with their performances. It has created something really special and he is looking forward to what comes next.

  1. Sign some to Raw and some to NXT….. Man FUCK NXT. It holds back a lot of great wrestlers who dont even need developmental.
