CM Punk Talks Not Missing Cutting Promos Or Carrying The WWE On His Back

CM Punk finally steps in the octagon for the first time on September 10th against Mickey Gall. Punk is one of the most popular pro-wrestlers of the past decade and we can assume many will tune in to see how he does. In the recent media call for UFC 203, Punk spoke on some WWE related topics prior to his fight. Below are some of the highlights.

Punk was asked if he misses cutting promos now that he is in the UFC (since he hasn’t really done any  talking for this fight):

“I don’t see the need for it. People either love me or hate me already. I’m not trying to talk anyone into the building on this one. The allure is just the fact that it’s happening. The story writes itself. It’s not a fabricated thing where I need to create some drama between me and Mickey. We’re gonna fight. That’s the beauty of it. It doesn’t need to be a weird, verbal pissing contest” (Source: UFC 203 Media Call).

He also says he doesn’t miss carrying the WWE on his back:

“Carrying an entire company on your shoulders, for lack of a better description — after a while, it sucks. This is more relaxed, focus on yourself. I’m not worrying about what everyone else is doing. I’m not worried about pay-per-view numbers and buyrates and ratings and merchandise sales. I focus on one thing and one thing only, and that’s myself” (Source: UFC 203 Media Call).
