September 5th RAW Viewership Numbers Are In: 3rd Hour Suffers Huge Drop

The September 5th RAW was the first show with Kevin Owens as WWE Universal Champion. The show featured solid matches like Chris Jericho vs Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn. We also got to see the return of ‘the Boss’ Sasha Banks to WWE TV. How many people watched this weeks show?

According to Wrestling Inc, the September 5th RAW averaged 3.069 million viewers. This is down 10% from last weeks show that averaged 3.413 million. The bad news comes in the third hour, where the show suffered a very large drop.

Here is the hour breakdown for the September 5th RAW:

Hour 1 -3.350 million viewers.

Hour 2 – 3.066 million viewers.

Hour 3 – 2.792 million viewers.

As you can see, the show declined huge in the last hour. Interesting that Sasha Banks’ announcement was in the 3rd hour and I am surprised so many people shut their TV’s off. The WWE is now in tough with Monday Night Football coming back in the upcoming weeks. It will  be interesting to see how the numbers are moving forward.

  1. You have to think of kids watching. As a kid I couldn’t watch it past 10 pm I had to record it after 10. Now wwe fan base is huge with kids now
