Backstage Update On If Sasha Banks vs Charlotte Will Go On Last At The Hell in a Cell PPV

Speculation has been rampant over the past week or so in regards to which match will close the show on Sunday at the Hell in a Cell PPV. The event is being promoted as a ‘triple main event’ between the three matches taking place inside the Hell in a Cell structure (Reigns vs Rusev, Sasha vs Charlotte and Rollins vs Owens). Which of these will go on last?

According to the  Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription required but recommended), the latest news is that Vince is  not fully on board with Sasha and Charlotte being the final match on Sunday. On the other side, Triple H is backing the idea of Charlotte and Sasha going on last.

The argument against the idea is that it will be such a historical moment for women to headline a WWE (main roster) PPV, that they would want to promote it weeks in advance and get more eyes on the event. From a business perspective, putting the match on last on Sunday without promoting the hell out of it first would be a bit silly from WWE’s perspective. They are already making history with the first Hell in a Cell match and they might want to wait for another PPV for the first ever main event.

Mick Foley definitely raised tensions this past week when he announced on his Facebook page that Sasha vs Charlotte would be the main event. He later edited his post to say that it would be one of the main events, but many people had already made up their minds.

It will certainly be interesting to see what happens on Sunday and which match will go where. I am guessing WWE places the match first on the card, like they did with Aj Styles vs Dean Ambrose vs John Cena at the No Mercy PPV.
