John Cena is currently on hiatus with WWE in order to film the second season of his show: American Grit. He is expected to return to the ring around January after filming has been completed. His return might be short-live though as he just signed on to do another movie.

According to Variety, Cena will join Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz in the movie: The Pact. According to the report, Cena will be in a starring role in the film.
Here is the synopsis:
“The film follows three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night, go out and try to stop them before it’s too late”
It is unclear when filming will start for the movie just yet but this news means that John Cena will likely have to go on another hiatus sometime in 2o17.

I think we can assume that Cena will work with WWE until Wrestlemania 33. Than he will probably go on to film this movie and take another break.
One thing is for sure, John Cena is a hard worker and will want to miss as little of WWE programming as possible.
