You might have noticed a change in format for the WWE’s kickoff shows. At this weeks TLC PPV, we saw Renee Young, Booker T and radio personality Peter Rosenberg on the kickoff panel. Noticeably absent was Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler and Lita who usually are featured on the panel.

It also appears as if WWE is also cutting down on the RAW and Smackdown pre-shows. This week they have been only 10 minutes long before the show goes to air.
According to multiple reports, Jerry Lawler and Lita have been removed from regular TV duties by WWE. They both remain on Legends contracts with the company but won’t be doing any of the RAW, Smackdown or PPV kickoff shows anymore.
PWInsider.com reached out to WWE for a statement about Jerry Lawler, they responded:
“Jerry Lawler has a Legends agreement with WWE, however, he will no longer regularly appear on our pre-shows. He will continue to host special events, including WWE’s annual Hall of Fame celebration at WrestleMania”

This also coincides withe a recent rumor that WWE is looking to bring in bigger names for the kickoff shows of PPV events. Rosenberg being on the panel for TLC is the first example of this. The idea is that these names will hopefully bring in more viewers.
