Sasha Banks and Charlotte put on a 30 minute IronMan match at WWE Roadblock: End of the Line. Charlotte ended up winning the match in sudden death by making Sasha tap out. With the win, Charlotte won the RAW Women’s Championship for a 4th time and ended her feud with Banks.

One of the biggest moments of the match was the finish to the 30 minute regulation time. Charlotte had Sasha locked in the figure-four leglock with a minute to go. It looked like Sasha would be able to survive, winning the match at 2 falls to 1. Charlotte ended up getting the bridge for the ‘figure eight leglock’ forcing Sasha to tap out with 2 seconds remaining.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Vince McMahon thought that this would be a much bigger moment than it turned out to be. Vince wanted to work the crowd, having them go crazy for the countdown when Sasha was about to win. Sasha tapping out at 2 seconds to go was his way to completely deflate the crowd. It is said in their report that everyone else disagreed with Vince but as we all know, he has the final say.

Many fans have complained about the ending of the match and how it was odd having Sasha Banks tap out twice. Many fans thought it was too obvious that Sasha was going to tap at the end, sending it to extra time. The WWE could have accomplished the same result (Charlotte winning) but having Sasha and Charlotte switch places in the final moments. Have Charlotte tap out at the end of regulation to tie it at 2, and then have her win in sudden death. Instead, we saw Sasha Banks tap out twice and look like the weaker of the two.
