John Cena Backpedals On His Part-Timer Comments Towards The Rock

On this weeks episode of Talking Smack, John Cena was asked if he regrets the comments that he made several years ago to the Rock about being a “part-timer” in WWE. During his feud with the Rock, Cena used the fact that he abandoned WWE for Hollywood and only worked a few matches a year as ammo.

Several years later, Cena has achieved a ton of success outside of the wrestling ring. In 2016 alone he hosted the ESPY’s, Saturday Night Live and has appeared in a few movies/television shows. He has worked closer to a part-time schedule with WWE which has caused many fans to label him as a hypocrite.

On this weeks episode of Talking Smack, Cena backpedaled on his part-timer comments. He says that he was wrong and what he said to the Rock was the “stupidest stuff ever”. He was trying to hit the Rock where it hurt in order to get him back to WWE when he said those things.

He says that the Rock is now the highest paid actor in the world and anytime someone achieves that kind of success it can only be good for the WWE.
