JBL Explains Why James Ellsworth Is Still Appearing on WWE Television

‘Bring it to the Table’ made its debut after this weeks episode of RAW on the WWE Network. The show was hosted by radio personality Peter Rosenberg and featured JBL and Paul Heyman in an ESPN style show where they would address all of the latest news/issues in WWE.

One of the most interesting parts was when Rosenberg asked JBL why James Ellsworth is still being featured on WWE television.

JBL says that the reason why he is still featured on WWE TV is because he draws ratings. He says that the kid has been fantastic and he doesn’t care about where he came from.

Rosenberg brings up that a lot of WWE fans complain that the spot he was given could be used for a young talent in NXT or someone else more deserving.

JBL responds to that by saying if the talent wants to be in the spot as Ellsworth, they need to draw more ratings. He compares it to the Rock, where a lot of fans would like to complain about him coming back and taking someone’s spot. If you can draw more ratings than the Rock, there is no reason for him to come back. Same thing as Ellsworth, if you can draw more ratings than him, you can get rid of him.

You can bet this is probably the only time Ellsworth has been compared to the Rock in his career.

  1. I was disappointed in this show. I was expecting a little more breaking of kayfabe, or at least a blurring of the lines, instead it was just an array of slamming the fanbase and providing corporate answers.
