As we saw this week on RAW, Bayley became the number one contender for the RAW Women’s Championship after defeating Nia Jax (with some help from her friend, Sasha Banks). With the win, Bayley earned herself a title shot against Charlotte at the 2017 Royal Rumble.

Here are some rumors going around about the WWE’s current plan for the RAW Women’s title.
On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), it was mentioned that there is some long-term plans in place regarding the Bayley and Charlotte feud. The current plan is rumored to have Bayley winning the RAW Women’s Title, but not at the Royal Rumble.
The idea is that WWE will likely keep this feud going until Wrestlemania 33 where the two ladies will square off on the big stage.
WWE also might be trying to re-create a similar moment to Wrestlemania 30 when Daniel Bryan overcame the odds. Bayley is viewed as a fan favorite and her finally defeating Charlotte could be a great moment. We saw a bit of tension teased on this weeks episode of RAW between Bayley and Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie told Bayley that she didn’t want her on the RAW brand, indicating that Stephanie could continue to keep Bayley down, similar to what the Authority did to Daniel Bryan.
This would mean that Charlotte will likely retain at the Royal Rumble via some outside help or funny business.
