Shawn Michaels appeared on this weeks episode of Monday Night RAW. Michaels was mainly on the show to promote his new movie: “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” but he did get in a Sweet Chin Music on Rusev to send the fans home happy.

Michaels was interviewed backstage after his appearance where he was asked about a potential surprise appearance at the 2017 Royal Rumble. The event takes place in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas which has had many fans buzzing about a possible appearance for the ‘Heartbreak Kid’. Many fans would love to see him turn up as a surprise entrant at the event.
Michaels responded to the rumors, saying that he certainly might come by and visit the event. He makes it clear that he intends to stay retired, even though fans want him to return. He also says he wants to show people how to ‘stay retired’. He finishes it off by saying that it is WWE and anything can happen.

I think this confirms that Shawn won’t be doing anything physical at the event. I think WWE will use him as a special guest host for the event or in some other capacity. Wouldn’t make much sense not to have him involved in some way.
