Roman Reigns Comments After Defeating The Undertaker At Wrestlemania 33

Roman Reigns faced off against the Undertaker in the main event of Wrestlemania 33. After a bit of a sloppy match, Reigns was able to hit a big spear on the Deadman for the victory. It was clear that this was probably the final match of the career for the Undertaker.

Reigns joins Brock Lesnar as the only two people to ever defeat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. A pretty prestigious club to be a part of.

Reigns was interviewed backstage where he said: “I’m a man of my word, I told y’all what I was going to do, this is my yard now”

He would also say in his interview with Jonathan Coachman after the match that it was bittersweet:

“To be honest with you Coach, you know, it’s bittersweet. It almost feels like a loss, you know what I mean? Because, I’ve said this for the past three or four weeks, I’ve got nothing but respect for the Undertaker. If you’ve been a part of this business, and you know, everybody’s got respect for that man. But at the end of the day you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. As a young man, as a family man, as a provider, I’ve got to go out there and fight for mine, and that’s what I did tonight”

WWE also posted this photo of Reigns backstage after the match:

  1. I think Roman defeating Taker will have a bigger impact long term than Lesnar’s victory. Lesnar won because Vince THOUGHT Taker’s career was over. Roman won because Taker KNEW his career was over.
