Triple H Comments On Jinder Mahal’s Recent Push

Triple H was recently interviewed by Josh Barnett of For The Win. The topic of conversation was all about Jinder Mahal and the recent shock when he became the number one contender for the WWE Championship. This came as a surprise to many as he hasn’t won a lot of matches since returning to the company last year.

Triple H spoke about Jinder and his former 3MB teammate: Drew McIntyre (who recently returned to the company and is working in NXT).

He says that both Jinder and Drew achieved success when they were “too young and not ready for it”. After leaving the company, they both grew as performers and are ready to make an impact.

Specifically on Jinder, Triple H cited his hard work and maturity as a reason for his recent push:

“From the second he’s been back it’s been, ‘What else can I do to make this work? What else can I do to improve? What else can I do to get to the next level? It takes time. You bring people back, you let them get their feet wet a bit, you make sure they’ve matured in the way you want them to and move from there. I think fans or people who watch we do, they think it’s a matter of, ‘This guy is there so why don’t they do something with him?’ It’s a more complex process than that and a lot goes into it”

But I’m happy for a guy like him — whether it was because of him or whatever reason it didn’t work out on the first pass through — to be able to come back and do it again.”
