Kevin Owens was able to defeat Chris Jericho in the main event of Smackdown Live this week. With the win, he became the new WWE United States Champion, winning back the title that he lost only a few days prior at the Payback Pay-Per-View.

After the match, Owens would viciously assault Jericho, adding insult to injury. Jericho had to be helped to the back and looked to be in a lot of pain.
Owens added some more insult to injury in a video uploaded to WWE’s Youtube channel. As he is walking around in the backstage area, he ripped off the name plate that belonged to Jericho.

That name plate had a family! It looks like this was WWE’s way to write Chris Jericho off television for the next few weeks (and possibly months) as he tours with his band: Fozzy. He has had an incredible run over the past year or so and he will be missed on weekly television.
