As many fans know, AJ Styles faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom 10. Many fans want to see this match happen again in a WWE ring. Both are on Smackdown Live and it seems like it is only a matter of time before they square off.

AJ was a guest on ‘E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness‘ and spoke about some opponents that he still wants to face on the WWE roster. AJ mentioned Nakamura and his desire to wrestle him on U.S soil.
AJ says that when him against Nakamura happens in WWE, he wants it to be really big. If it was up to him, it would be at Wrestlemania. AJ says he has told Vince and WWE how important it is to him that they don’t just have a match. He wants to make sure that there is a proper build and stretch it out as long as they can to give fans a big payoff.
There was a pretty cool moment during this year’s Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View. Styles and Nakamura went head-to-head for a few minutes to a massive ovation. Turns out that this was AJ’s idea.
AJ says he pitched this interaction to Vince McMahon to show him that a match between him and Nakamura could be something special:
“Well not to toot my own horn here, but that was my idea. Because I wanted to show Vince that there’s something special here. Something that people wanted to see. So let’s wait until we give it to them, and give them something bigger than just you know, a TV match. It was one of those cold chill moments that I got, standing in the middle of the ring looking through the ladder at Nakamura”
Safe to say it worked.
