You have probably heard the news by now that Kenny Omega suffered an injury to his leg that will force him out of shows for the next several weeks. Omega confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: “Unfortunately, I’ll have to take a short break. Hold the fort, Leo Tonga. See you in Kobe”.

We have some more information on the injury and what happened.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wresting Observer Radio (subscribe here), Kenny Omega had surgery on his left meniscus this week.
The surgery went well and he is starting rehab today (Thursday, September 7th).
The injury didn’t happen recently, he has had it for years according to Meltzer. Omega apparently knew during the G1 that he was probably going to need surgery but continued to work. In the break between tours his knee apparently locked up and that was when Omega knew he needed to get the surgery . He still worked PWG anyways this past weekend.
Omega is still going to defend his IWGP United States Championship against Juice Robinson on September 24th.
