Sami Zayn recently turned heel at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View. During the main event, he pulled Kevin Owens away at the last moment as Shane McMahon leaped from the top of the cell. He has officially aligned himself with Kevin Owens and it has solidified Sami as a heel moving forward.

X-Pac shared a funny story on his show: X-Pac 12360 that has to do with Sami turning heel.
X-Pac says that he texted Triple H several months prior and told him that the company should turn Sami heel because of how little he was being used. Triple H’s response is funny when fast-forwarding 6 months later and seeing what happened at Hell in a Cell.
Here is what he said:
“Crazy thing, It might have been 6 months ago, maybe not that long ago…I was like, they aren’t doing much with Sami Zayn. It’s a crying shame because he’s one of the best talents they have. So, I got on my phone, texted Hunter: you should turn Sami Zayn heel. You would not believe how he crapped on that idea. I mean, he thought I was a complete moron for suggesting that.”
I don’t think Triple H is the only one who would react that way. Sami plays the role of the underdog very well and it was certainly a surprise to see him turn. Still, the way the storyline played out has drawn a lot of intrigue so far. Hard to say that it was a wrong decision.
