You might remember the strange suspension that happened in 2016 involving Titus O’Neil. During Daniel Bryan’s retirement speech, the entire WWE locker room stood on the ramp to pay tribute to him. This included Vince McMahon.

As they were walking to the backstage area after the segment, cameras caught Vince McMahon getting grabbed on the arm by someone on the roster. This turned out to be Titus O’Neil.
It turns out that Vince wasn’t impressed and ended up suspending Titus. Titus was originally suspended for 90 days for ‘unprofessional conduct’. This was eventually knocked down to a 60 day suspension.
During an interview with Lilian Garcia for her podcast: Chasing Glory, Titus admitted that he still doesn’t really understand why he was suspended:
“I still don’t understand it. I literally put me my hand out and said, ‘Ladies first.’ So I don’t know what the wrong time is to say, ‘Ladies first’ or the right time. It’s water under the bridge. It happened and I took ownership of it regardless if I was right, wrong, or indifferent, or if the situation could have been handled different. It happened. I served my suspension and its over with. It goes back to the fact that I know who I am and I know what I did and I know why I did it and God has rewarded me tenfold.”
Certainly a bizarre moment.
