Jack Swagger was released by WWE in March. This came after he had shared publicly that he had asked for his release from the company. Since leaving, Swagger has wrestled a little bit on the independent scene.

In the past Swagger has expressed interest in potentially trying Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). It looks like he has been granted his wish.
Swagger announced on the MMA Hour that he has signed with Bellator MMA.
Swagger was previously a collegiate wrestler for the University of Oklahoma.
Former WWE wrestler Jack Swagger (Jake Hager) announced on The MMA Hour that he has signed with Bellator MMA. He wrestled at the University of Oklahoma from 2002-06 and signed with the WWE after his college career. He is 35 years old and will compete at heavyweight.
