WWE brought back Starrcade for a live event in Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday night. Several legends of the past appeared, including: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. The event featured two steel cage matches: Natalya vs Charlotte Flair and AJ Styles vs Jinder Mahal.

The event was not broadcast on the WWE Network and was only for fans in the area. So, was the event a success?
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the Starrcade live event was a big success for WWE. The show apparently did big numbers for the Greensboro market, the best in a long time.
The belief backstage is that WWE will bring it back next year.
It will be interesting to see if WWE brings more special events to specific markets in the future. We will have to wait and see but could be a way to boost live event sales in some markets.
