A new report from TV By The Numbers says that both shows will be cutting back on their commercial times. Here are some highlights.
The report says that NBC Universal is cutting back on commercial time for all of their Primetime programming. This will include WWE, which airs on the USA Network. Here is an excerpt:
“Shows across NBCU’s channels — including NBC, E!, USA and Syfy — will feature about 20 percent fewer ads next season, along with a 10 percent reduction in commercial time. So instead of five 30-second ads during a commercial break, viewers might see two or three longer ones”
So how much less commercial time? The report says that a 10% reduction of commercial time could lead to 2 to 4 more minutes of episode length.
This will reportedly be rolled out in the Fall.
In other WWE Television news, some interesting names were ringside at Smackdown Live this week. You can check out those details here.
