WWE brought back a few older PPV concepts last year that fans of WCW grew up on. We saw them bring back Starrcade for a live event in Greensboro, North Carolina. We also saw WarGames make its return for the NXT Takeover on Survivor Series weekend.

It looks like WWE could be bringing back another concept from the past.
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (h/t to SEScoops), WWE filed for the trademark for ‘The Great American Bash’ on April 27th. Here is what the trademark filing says:
“The THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH trademark is filed in the category of Education and Entertainment Services. The description provided to the USPTO for THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH is Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment; fan club services, namely, organizing and staging events with wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the field of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs in the fields of sports entertainment”
The Great American Bash was made famous in the NWA and WCW. WWE used it several times over the years. The last time was in 2012 when WWE ran SmackDown: The Great American Bash.
