In case you missed it, Shawn Michaels did an interview recently that got the hopes up of wrestling fans. Michaels sounded like he may have reconsidered his retirement from wrestling. He also mentioned the names of Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles and Johnny Gargano as potential opponents.

Michaels was asked about this comments by Red Carpet Report on Mingle Media TV and he clarified his position.
“I don’t know I say all sorts of silly stuff I have absolutely no idea why I say the things I do…
No, those are unbelievably talented young men. I don’t know, I’m fans of theirs, I appreciate their style, and I don’t know I guess for so many years I was always fortunate to be able to bring what I feel like is the best out of other people and I see those guys doing it now with other talent and I guess I think to myself if you have the ability to put two people with the ability to do that together and something very special could come out of it. I just think they are very talented young men and its something that in my prime I would have really loved the opportunity to mix it up with them”
Michaels adds that there is a part of him who knows he could still do it but he enjoys watching the younger talent more:
“I am always humbled and very flattered that after all these years some people believe enough in my ability that I could still do it. Look, there is a part of me that knows I could but at the same time, this is a young man’s game. I love the fact that the future of WWE is in such good, capable hands…
As much as it would be enjoyable to do that I’m more excited about watching these guys take WWE into the future”
Looks like we got our hopes up.
