News broke on Tuesday afternoon that Big Cass had been released by WWE. This came as a big surprise since Cass wrestled at Sunday’s Money in the Bank PPV. WWE issued a statement that read: “WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass)”. No further explanation was given.

The @Wrestlevotes account says Cass pissed off someone backstage badly and this all only happened on Tuesday.
Asked what happened with Cass. Source is tied up at the moment, however said “Big man pissed someone off, bad”
I also know this happened within the last few hours, not necessarily the “pissing off” but the decision. Not at the PPV as Cass worked the house show last night.

According to Dave Meltzer, there was a meeting between Vince McMahon and Cass on Tuesday. This meeting was not in front of everybody as was previously reported:
