According to the Wrestling Standard (formerly known as PWStream), WWE is getting ready for Daniel Bryan’s potential departure from the company. As a result, they are booking him in matches and storylines that were originally planned for later in the year.
The site says that WWE still doesn’t know if Bryan will be re-signing with the company when his contract expires in September. As a result, the company is booking him in matches and storylines that were planned for later down the road as a way to get the most out of him while they still have him. This includes his recent matches against AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy and his reunion with Kane.
As for Extreme Rules, the site says that the current plan is for the Miz to cost Team Hell No the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. This will lead to Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz at SummerSlam with the Miz winning. If Bryan signs a contract extension, the feud could see a multi-match series with them facing off at Summerslam and Extreme Rules.
Also, Bryan has apparently signed with the same agency as John Cena to deal with his contract negotiations. Bryan wants the best deal possible.
Take with a grain of salt for now. Your thoughts?
