Rey Mysterio has made a few appearances for WWE over the past several months. This includes appearing at both the Royal Rumble in January and the Greatest Royal Rumble event in April. He was also recently announced as the pre-order bonus for WWE 2k19.

We have a new rumor to pass your way in regards to Rey’s return to WWE.
According to the Wrestling Standard (formerly known as PWStream), Mysterio has signed a two-year deal with WWE. This came after Mysterio met with WWE officials 10 days ago when the company was in San Diego.
The site says that Mysterio’s deal with WWE begins on August 1st. Mysterio could apparently start as early as the Smackdown Live episode in Brooklyn (which is two days after Summerslam).
They also suggest that this is separate from Mysterio’s deal with WWE 2k where he was recently announced as a pre-order bonus character.
Make sure to take rumors with a grain of salt as always.
