To say that Jinder Mahal’s return to WWE has been a success would be an understatement. Jinder went on a lengthy run as WWE Champion last year, something that not too many people would have expected.
It turns out that there was an interesting creative pitch for Jinder’s character made prior to him returning to WWE.
According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, there was a creative pitch made for Jinder’s character to be “The Mahal Monitor”. This would be a (self-appointed) authority figure who monitors the backstage hallways of WWE. Here was Satin’s Tweet:
When Jinder Mahal re-signed with WWE, there was a pitch to have his character be known as “The Mahal Monitor”where he’d act as a sort of self-appointed authority figure of the backstage hallways of WWE. Glad we didn’t get that instead of “The Constable.”
