According to a report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Andrade is expected to drop his United States Championship.
This comes after Andrade was recently suspended by WWE for violating the company wellness policy. Andrade is now expected to drop the belt prior to Wrestlemania 36. Here is what Barrasso wrote:
From everything I have been told by contacts within WWE, the recently suspended Andrade’s days as the United States champion are numbered. (His 30-day wellness policy suspension expires on Feb. 27.)
A hair-vs.-mask match against Rey Mysterio would have been special, but the more pressing question is whether he will even make it to WrestleMania as the United States champion.
My Take:
- This doesn’t make sense to me. Why wouldn’t they have just stripped the belt from Andrade when he was suspended? Would have made the most sense.
