Early Rumor On Shawn Michaels Role At The WWE Super Show-Down Event in Australia

News broke recently that WWE would be running a major PPV event in Australia later in 2018. This will be called the WWE Super Show-Down and will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds.

One of the names advertised for the event was Shawn Michaels, which certainly got the hopes up of wrestling fans who want to see him back in the ring.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about Shawn wrestling at the event.

Meltzer says that there has been some talk about Michaels serving as a special guest referee on the show. This would be similar to when Michaels was the referee for the match between Drew McIntyre and Adam Cole at the NXT live event in San Antonio last year.

This will be a disappointment to any fan that wants to see HBK wrestle again. Shawn delivered some Sweet Chin Music to Kyle O’Reilly during the NXT live event last year so maybe we will see something physical from him. He also has a history refereeing matches between Triple H and the Undertaker (which happens to be taking place on the show).

You also never know, Shawn could change his mind about wrestling again. Meltzer suggests that if that does happen, WWE should wait until Wrestlemania for Shawn’s return match. Hard to argue with that.

On a related note, here are 9 former WWE stars who aren’t the biggest fans of Shawn Michaels.
