Rumor Roundup: Alexa Bliss Frustrated With WWE Creative, WWE Interested In Bringing Back Tag Team, More

3) Backstage Note On Roman Reigns’ Title Reign

According to WrestlingNews.co, there are no plans for Roman Reigns to lose the title anytime soon.

Here is what the site wrote:

Over the last couple of months, WWE has been touting that Reigns’ title reign as one of the longest in company history, only behind Hogan, Sammartino, Pedro Morales and Bob Backlund. We are told that, as of today, there are still no plans for him to lose the title anytime soon. Some in the company have speculated that he will hold the title through next year’s WrestleMania (the hope is that The Rock will come back for one final match) and by that point, the company would start pushing Reigns as the greatest of all-time.

My Take:

  • I am loving Reigns’ character, so I am fine with this. Some may disagree but I am good with it.

2) Backstage Note On The Brand Split

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has no plans to end the brand split anytime soon.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

“Roman Reigns is scheduled to headline WrestleMania Backlash even though they don’t seem to have started a program for him. Also, regarding rumors of brand mergers because of the singles title merger and the tag title merger, right now they are not merging rosters. Of course Vince could decide something different five minutes from now but as of right now nobody has heard anything discussed in that direction.”

My Take:

  • I am a bit confused what their plan is going to be for the top title if they aren’t ending the brand split. Maybe they will just have Roman go back and forth between RAW and Smackdown challengers?
